In the beginning of September a stark increase of biomass of the vegetation was visible. Therefore we partially unshaded the bigger pond and the plant matter was used for hiding places of animals. They are, as seen in the photos, used by grass snakes that hatched this year and by sand lizards. In the bigger pond most larvae of water frogs and smooth newts have already metamorphosed. Though still individual larvae of these species can be found.
